Changelog

  1. New feedback system, new menus, and improved PDB to SDF conversion

Today, we added a feedback system to tools, which allows you to submit feedback and suggestions for tools.

We also expanded the menus, and improved the PDB to SDF conversion logic. The PDB to SDF converter now supports the V3000 format.

  2. Added protein and DNA tools, plus new file converters

We added new tools for protein and DNA analysis, along with new file converters:

Protein tools Calculate protein parameters, such as molecular weight, amino acid composition, and more.

DNA tools Tools for DNA sequence analysis and manipulation.

    • DNA to protein: Translate DNA sequences to protein sequences using genetic code
    • Reverse complement: Generate reverse, complement, or reverse-complement of DNA/RNA sequences
    • Random DNA generator: Generate random DNA sequences with customizable length and composition

    New file converters

    • PDB to MOL2: Convert Protein Data Bank files to MOL2 molecular format
    • PDB to CIF: Convert Protein Data Bank files to Crystallographic Information File format
    • GenBank to FASTA: Convert your GenBank files to FASTA format
    • SDF to PDB: Convert Structure Data Format files to Protein Data Bank format
  3. Added dark mode

ProteinIQ now supports dark mode, allowing users to switch between light and dark themes for better usability in different lighting conditions.

You can find the switch in the top right corner of the page.

  4. ProteinIQ launch

ProteinIQ gets released to public with the first set of converters, providing essential bioinformatics file conversion tools that run directly in your browser.

    Initial release features:

    • Browser-based tools: All converters run locally in your browser with no installation required
    • Privacy-first: Your data never leaves your device
    • Fast and reliable: Instant conversions without server dependencies

    Launch converters:

    • FASTQ to FASTA: Convert FASTQ sequence files to FASTA format
    • PDB to FASTA: Convert Protein Data Bank files to FASTA sequence format
    • TXT to FASTA: Convert plain text sequence files to FASTA format
    • PDB to SDF: Convert Protein Data Bank files to Structure Data Format

    Vision:

ProteinIQ launched with the goal of providing accessible, powerful bioinformatics tools for researchers, students, and professionals. This initial release focuses on essential file format conversions, with plans to expand into comprehensive protein analysis, structure prediction, and molecular dynamics tools.
